President Ulysses S. Grant Signed 1875 Appointment

Presidential appointment of O.H. Hadley of Arkansas as the “Registrar of the Land Office at Little Rock Arkansas” signed by Ulysses S. Grant on December 21, 1875. O.H. Hadley was an interim Republican Governor of Arkansas, and one of the Carpetbaggers and Scalawags, the thieves who ran the State after the Democrats were thrown out of office following the end the Civil War. The signature of Grant is NRMT however, the document is good, as it has wear and water damage. In a framed display (23x39”) includes 9.5x13.5 photograph of Grant, original from the 19th century and a Centennial (1776 -1876) embroidered bookmark.
