"Primo on the Ropes" Baer vs. Carnera by Joseph Golinkin
On June 14, 1934 at the Madison Square Garden Bowl in Long Island City, New York heavyweight champion Primo Carnera defended his title against hard punching challenger Max Baer. Baer exposed Carnera, knocking him down ten times and stopping him in the 11th round to win the title. Artist Joseph Golinkin captured Baer's slaughter of Carnera in the graphic lithograph depicting Carnera going down for good. Numbered 34 of 50 and signed by Golinkin. In excellent condition with some age spotting. 17" x 21" lithograph framed to 22.5" x 27." From the collection of Bert Sugar.
