Sugar Ray Robinson's Corner Man's Sweater

Sugar Ray Robinson's Corner Man's Sweater

Navy zip-up sweater was worn by Sugar Ray Robinson’s faithful corner man and veteran trainer, Harry Wiley. Wiley was a promising young fighter, winning his first 7 bouts. Tragically, his career as a boxer ended there, following an accident in which he was hit by a car. Luckily, his path would lead him to Robinson, and he became the young prodigy’s trainer from the beginning of his career. Wiley also had the experience of training Muhammad Ali (2 fights). Sweater is embroidered with his name, “Harry Wiley” in yellow thread on the left breast. Back displays, “Ray Robinson” in yellow felt lettering. Shows light use and wear. LOA from Sugar Ray Robinson's son.
