The Definitive Bruce Lee Image (5 photos)

The Definitive Bruce Lee Image (5 photos)

Stunning image of Lee is the one we most remember. Paper caption on verso explains they are looking for someone to play him in the film Bruce Lee His Life and Legend (1975). It is joined by 4 laser prints: two portraits announcing his death, actor friends Steve McQueen and James Coburn carrying his casket and split screen of the inquest on his mysterious death with his wife, brother and actress Ting Pei who he died with. Overall EX+ and 7x9”.

This lot is from the legendary San Francisco Examiner Archive (SFXArchive).
This is one largest collections ever of historic vintage photos spanning the entire 20th century. The San Francisco Examiner was the first paper acquired by William Randolph Hearst and itself was the subject of the film classic Citizen Kane. The majority of the photographs are fully identified, and back-stamped with dates. Included throughout this auction is a diverse mix of subjects including sports, historical, political, transportation, Hollywood, and all facets of entertainment.
