The Marion Davies Theater Original Artwork (1929)

The Marion Davies Theater Original Artwork (1929)

Where fantasy meets reality. In the film Citizen Kane, Charles Foster Kane builds a theater for the no talent opera singer Susan Alexander. Marion Davies was the real life mistress of William Randolph Hearst, who the film's characters were based on. Here he did actually plan a theater for her entitled, "The Marion Davies Theater". The only differences are this one never got built and Marion actually was a quite talented comedienne. Original pen and ink is 20x7' and is folded twice. Comes with small image of the theater's proposed billboard reading "Marion Davies" (6x1.5"). Just amazing, and the only place it would be was the archive of his Hearst's original newspaper, the S.F. Examiner. EX-MT.
