The Muhammad Ali Presentational Scrapbook and Photograph Collection (200+)
Fine collection from the early 1970s (some 1960s) comes from the former wife of Muhammad himself, Belinda Ali. Total of about 90 images, all of which show Muhammad Ali in glorious b/w and full color. There are also nearly 100 other photos of family members, as well as with some of celebrities like Smokey Robinson, Bobby Darin, and more. Includes some very important and personal material including his pilgrimages to the Arab world including Libya. Ranging in size from 3x5” to 8x10” there are some very interesting snapshots and polaroids. One of the most interesting pieces is a 1964 8x10 by Howard Bingham with his notations on the verso. There is also some great ephemera including newspapers, plane tickets for family members, congratulation cards on the birth of his son, and Muhammad’s personal copies of newspapers from his fights. Overall excellent condition. Almost all are rare, one-of-a-kind images that will never be seen anywhere else. Simply a treasure trove that chants “Ali, Ali, Ali!”
