Two Joe Jackson Barnstorming Letters

Two Joe Jackson Barnstorming Letters

Another fascinating piece of history, this lot contains two thank you letters from M.G. Moore, both dated August 13, 1918 and sent to Fred Payne, manager of Harlan team and Mr. Collier, Service Agent, both of Bethlehem Shipbuilding. In it, the author thanks them for allowing players to come and play against Reading Steel. Payne letter mentions "Messrs, Wagner, Jackson and Williams." Lefty Williams and Joe Jackson are obvious, we can only dream that the third is Honus Wagner. Mounted on original scrapbook page with taped edges and with newspaper articles including Black Sox related.
