Two Joe Louis Fight Programs

Two Joe Louis Fight Programs

This lot includes a pair of programs from Heavyweight Title bouts of Champion Joe Louis. The first, dated June 19, 1946 at Yankee Stadium, is a 68-page edition featuring a cover illustration of the "Brown Bomber" and opponent Billy Conn. It is in good condition with chips on front and back covers, and folded within is what appears to be a set of mimeographed press notes with pertinent facts for that fight. The second is dated June 23, 1948, also at Yankee Stadium, featuring illustrations of Louis and opponent "Jersey Joe" Walcott. It is 48 pages and stands in VG condition. Both are fascinating reads, not just for the information on the boxing cards but for the features and advertisements of the day as well.
