Willard Mullin and Leo Amelia Original Art Collection (3)

Willard Mullin and Leo Amelia Original Art Collection (3)

Great original cartoons from the sports artist of the century. The first is the well-known New York Giants baseball team representation, a huge, amiable hulk character. Sitting on top of "Seal Rock", surrounded by seals, the drawing represents the Giants' move from New York to San Francisco in 1958. 14x18". The second is a commentary on the fans' reaction to Charley Conerly back when he was the new New York Giants quarterback. 14x23". The last is a wonderful drawing of Joe DiMaggio, fishing on a boat off the shore of a tiny island (14x23"). In his back pocket is his $90,000 contract and to his right is a carton of Chesterfield cigarettes. Above the cartoon is a handwritten note from Leo Amelia. Drawing is signed with his patented cartoon lion in lower right corner. Lot is EX.
