1973 Kentucky Derby Program and Kentucky Oaks Ticket Sells for World Record
NEW YORK, Ny. (WTVQ) – Penny Chenery’s 1973 Kentucky Derby program and personal track-used 1973 Kentucky Oaks clubhouse box ticket stub sold for a world record $11,687 in the Lelands.com Monthly Auction, which closed September 9.
The program and ticket come directly from the private collection of the Chenery family.
The sale – the most ever for a modern horse racing program – comes on the heels of a Secretariat 1973 Kentucky Derby-worn horseshoe selling for a world-record $80,736 in the Lelands.com Invitational Auction last month.
