Whitney Houston's Personal Bible at Auction

Bidding is underway on a Bible personalized by the late, great Whitney Houston.

The Good Book, owned by Houston before her death in February 2012, contains handwritten notes including the name of her ex-husband Robert B. Brown, their wedding party and the pastor who married them under a section labeled “Marriage.” Houston documented the name and birth date of their daughter Bobbi under a page in the Bible labeled “Births.” Houston also wrote in the Bible that her father John died Feb. 2, 2002, though he died in 2003.

Religion played an important part in Houston’s life. “The Preacher’s Wife” star discovered her voice while singing in church as a child and became a soloist at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J. Her mother Sissy, 85, is a Grammy-winning gospel singer who has led the New Hope choir for more than half a century.

Bids on Houston’s Bible end Feb. 1 and the starting price is $2,500. According to Lelands.com, “Bible shows light wear on jacket, pages are mint.”
