A remarkable document, signed by Abraham Lincoln while President, for the appointment of Samuel Ferris as Second Lieutenant in the Eigth Regiment of Infantry, dated June 24, 1861. A great piece of Civil War memorabilia, this dates to the time period following the secession of the Confederate states. Original folds, water damage and some holes at bottom, but a vital historical document from our bearded Civil War President. VG. Framed to 18x23".
