Commander-in-Chief of the United States from 1909-1913, William Howard Taft also served as a conciliator to Cuba during this time period. Offered here is an official document pertaining to the duties of the Secretary of State and Justice in Havana, Cuba. Dated October 8, 1906, printed on Republic of Cuba letterhead, document grants funds for the State Department of Cuba. Signatures at the bottom in fountain pen by Taft (title as “provisional governor”) and the Cuban Secretary of State and Justice are EX, nice and dark. Pinholes and damage to left edge only and creased.
