The Nationals were one of the first dominant organized ball clubs in the country and in 1867 they embarked on a journey to the west that sowed the seeds of the game throughout America. ”Printed ticket for the "National Base Ball Club" is on heavy stock and pictures crossed bat and ball. Ticket to the "....Grounds south of the Executive Mansion to witness their Grand Match with the...." Ticket was never filled in with recipient's name or game. EX condition and the first we have seen. Invitation is printed and name of quest was also left blank. It invites guest to the "...First Grand Hop of the N.B.B.C" held on January 5, 1866. The committee including A.P. Gorman, is listed at the bottom. Printed by Gibson Bros. in Washington, D.C. VG with folds.
