1880 Bronze of Tennis Player (21.5” tall)

1880 Bronze of Tennis Player (21.5” tall)

Scintillating figural bronze of an early tennis player stands with regal purpose. This enigmatic male tennis player dates from the 1880s sporting period tennis garb is in the most brilliant of detail. This gorgeous gentleman is in pinpoint definition right down to his uniquely wired racquet. Marked “No. 4” on the back of the base, this is one of the finest sports bronzes we have ever seen. It is quite masculine in its weight and depth (16” across at its widest point) yet with its original patina it is as elegant as a day on the courts of Wimbledon. EX-MT. A piece worthy of center court.
