1884 Chester A. Arthur Signed Document (15x19")
Incredible official document is dated December 26, 1884, signed by Chester A. Arthur in a bold black fountain pen. Signature is large and thick, but faded to a light brown with some ink loss to the end of last name. Originally served to appoint John F. Stretch to the position of Captain in the Tenth Regiment of Infantry. Blue seal from the War Department in lower left. Original folds, some light foxing and creasing, very light toning and the Americana graphics at top and bottom have faded ever so slightly. VG-EX. Framed to 21x25".
