1888 "League Magnates" Sporting Times Supplement
From the preeminent sports publication of its time - The Sporting Life - comes this extremely rare insert depicting 13 baseball magnates. The only known specimen of this faint yellow color, it features some of the seminal names in baseball such as A.G. Spalding, Al Reach, C.T. Dillingham, John B. Day, J.T. Brush, W.A. Nimick, W.F. Hewett, E. Young, F.K. Stearns, John L. Rogers, Joseph Gordon and John B. Sage. This comes from a bound volume and has the catalogue number when it was de-acquired. We are covering it out of respect. The top is slightly trimmed and there are tears and chipping at the bottom. A wonderful work of art by C. de Grimm.
