1891 Dr. Sanden's Electric Baseball Club Cabinet Card - Quack Medical

1891 Dr. Sanden's Electric Baseball Club Cabinet Card - Quack Medical

Don't you just love that title? Sanden's Electric Base Ball Club, conjures images of some Nikola Tesla era technological advance that was negatively propagandized by mogul Thomas Edison. This was in fact a quack medical device, a belt worn around the waist using the mysterious new advance of common electricity. It boasted recuperative powers to heal all maladies and aliments. Photo is by Rinehart of Denver, Colorado. Souvenir photograph is said to have been given to women attending the August 2, 1891, baseball game at Denver's Broadway Park but we have nothing to confirm or deny that. But who cares, this stands alone for so many other reasons. 5x8".
