1905 World Series "Reach Guide" Supplement Panorama
A beautiful panorama from the 1905 World Series between the Philadelphia Athletics and the New York Giants, this scene is of the Polo Grounds during Game 2, which the A's won 3-0, with an eager crowd forming a perimeter in the outfield and homes and businesses dotting the hillside in the background. The bottom reads "Athletics in the field, Bender pitching" as Chief Bender pitched a shutout vs. "Iron Man" McGinnity. It is mounted on rice paper not for restoration but for conservation, and measures 14x44".
