1910s Chief Bender World Series Photograph (PSA Type I)

1910s Chief Bender World Series Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph capturing four members of the Philadelphia Athletics, including Hall of Fame pitcher Chief Bender (second player from the left), warming up on the sideline prior to a game at the Polo Grounds. The fact that the game is at the Polo Grounds, combined with the uniform style shown here, indicates that this photo was taken at either the 1911 or 1913 World Series, both of which were won by the A's. Three Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with Bender's name written twice. The crystal-clear photo (7x5") displays a few light corner creases. In Very Good to Excellent condition. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
