1910s Draper & Maynard Wood Bat Rack

1910s Draper & Maynard Wood Bat Rack

Fresh to the market bat rack is the only one known to exist. This has been in a private collection for decades and never been offered for sale. Resplendent black bat rack is all original and handpainted by local to Plymouth, New Hampshire artisans. Standing 65" tall it reads, "D&M Athletic Goods "The Lucky Dog Kind" The Draper-Maynard Co. Plymouth N.H. U.S.A." But the incredible final addition of the classic D&M logo in decal transfer similar to the "decal bats" of the era marketed with images of Ty Cobb, Joe Jackson, etc. Far rarer than the Spalding bat racks as this was a much smaller local New England firm without the money to lavish on point-of-purchase displays of this grandeur. However, their importance as a manufacturer cannot be underscored enough as they made spectacular quality uniforms for both the Boston Red Sox and Braves as well as bats for top players. But they are most legendary for their relationship with Babe Ruth going back to his Red Sox days. The finest bat rack we have ever offered for sale.
