1910s Eddie Collins Original Photographic Negative

1910s Eddie Collins Original Photographic Negative

Original film negative capturing Hall of Fame second baseman Eddie Collins as a member of the Philadelphia Athletics. Collins is pictured striking a batting pose on the sideline prior to a game. Other players can be seen warming up in the background. Collins' last name is written along the base of the negative, while a production code appears along the left border. Although no year is listed, the "pillbox" style cap shown here was worn by the A's between the years 1909 and 1914. This is an early film negative, as glass was still the more common type of negative used during this period. The negative (3.5x5.5") remains in Excellent condition. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. (Please note: the positive image seen on our website is for illustrative purposes only and does not accompany the negative; only the negative is offered in this lot.)
