1914 NY Giants-Chicago White Sox World Tour Biltmore Hotel Player Presentation Cigar Box

1914 NY Giants-Chicago White Sox World Tour Biltmore Hotel Player Presentation Cigar Box

This unusual wood cigar box was presented to the Giants and White Sox "World Tour" players as "party favors' at the spectacular party held In celebration of their homecoming at the Biltmore Hotel in NYC. Lid reads, "Home Coming Dinner March 7th 1914 The Biltmore." The same label is inside and shows figures of baseball players in action. Box measures 5.5x2.5x1", small, meant to hold just a few cigars for a player to smoke during the festivities. Circling the sides are paper labels with schedule detailing ALL of their stops with dates including Rome (where they met Pope Pius X), plus Cairo, Tokyo, London, Paris and many more. Lid shows wear and is separated from the box, but labels around the sides are intact. One of the best from the finest collection of baseball and sports cigar boxes ever to be offered for public auction.
