Typed letter on "Navy Department, Assistant Secretary's Office, Washington" letterhead asks for special treatment for a friend of the future President, regarding a young pilot's wish to enlist in the "…Aviation Corps of the Army…" Closing signature of the Brigadier General Roosevelt is penned, "Franklin D. Roosevelt" in absolutely perfect black ink. Page has original mailing folds, but is otherwise undamaged. Matted and framed to museum quality. Also of interest to historians interested in the fascinating topic of World War I aviation.
