Original Type I photograph of famed aviatrix Amelia Earhart. The photo captures Earhart as she poses sitting in an automobile. Neither a date nor location are provided. A Brown Brothers credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with Earhart's name written in pencil. One of the most famous women in American history, Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Today, she is best known for her mysterious disappearance in 1937 while attempting to become the first woman to make a circumnavigational flight around the world. The photo (9x7.25") displays a tiny edge tear and adhesive residue on the reverse, otherwise it is in Excellent condition overall. Culled from the Legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive.
