1934 Tour of Japan Baseball Photos - Babe Ruth w/Geishas!

1934 Tour of Japan Baseball Photos - Babe Ruth w/Geishas!

An All-Star Team of American baseball players, headed by Babe Ruth, toured Japan shortly after the conclusion of the 1934 season to expose the game to foreign sports fans. But ballplayers weren't the only ambassadors to the Far East. This excellent collection features autographed photographs of Will Rogers and Douglas Fairbanks with Lady Ashley. These photos were taken in 1934 aboard the Empress Of Canada Cruise Ship and on land in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Babe is also pictured with Geishas. These photos came out of a family album chronicling a cruise on the Empress Of Canada that went from Vancouver, B.C. to Hawaii to Japan.
