1955 New York Yankees Tour of Japan Baseball Advertising Posters (4)

Incredibly rare and stunning, these advertising posters from the Mainichi Photo News Service were set up in shops to promote the New York Yankees Tour of Japan: 1) Welcoming the Yankees in tickertape parade past the Mainichi Newspaper main office after landing in Tokyo on October 20, 1955. Yankees manager Casey Stengel front and center. 2) October 28, 1955, at Osaka Namba Stadium with the NY Yankees winning 7-0 versus the Nankai Hawks. Yogi Berra & teammates in dugout. 3) 60,000 fans in Koshien Stadium in Osaka on November 3, 1955. Wonderful bird's eye view of the Yankees winning 7-3 over the Japanese All Stars. 4) Bird's eye view of Welcome Parade to Osaka with massive crowds reminiscent of classic images of the 1934 Japan Tour. Mickey Mantle and twenty cars filled with Yankees led by Stengel driving past the legendary Hankyu Department Store. Each framed to overall 16x20", some have scratches to frames, otherwise NM.
