1940s George Mikan at DePaul Photograph (PSA Type I)
Original Type I photograph of George Mikan as a member of DePaul in the early 1940s. Mikan is pictured posing together with DePaul head coach Ray Meyer, who is all smiles as he talks to his star player. Mikan was twice named the NCAA College Player of the Year (1944 and 1945) and led DePaul to the NIT Championship in 1945. Both a Brown Brothers label and credit stamp appear on the reverse, along with a few handwritten editorial notations. The photo (7.75x9.5"), which appears to be slightly trimmed, displays numerous light-to-moderate creases, a tiny edge tear, and adhesive residue on the reverse. Good condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archives. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
