1949 World Series - Jackie Robinson Safe at Third (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph capturing Jackie Robinson sliding into third base during Game 2 of the 1949 World Series. As noted by the printed caption on the reverse. Robinson had doubled and is shown here as he tags up and moves to third following a pop up down the right field line. Yankees third baseman Billy Johnson and third base umpire Cal Hubbard look on. Robinson later scored on a single by Gil Hodges for the only run in the Dodgers 1-0 win. Four Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with the aforementioned news caption and a few handwritten notations. The photo (7.25x8.75") displays moderate-to-heavy creasing throughout. In Good condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
