1951 Jackie Robinson "Safe at Third" Photograph (PSA Type I)

1951 Jackie Robinson "Safe at Third" Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph of Jackie Robinson sliding into third base during a game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Ebbets Field. Third baseman Billy Johnson is also in the photo as he attempts to retrieve the ball near the third base line. A Brown Brothers credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with the original paper news caption. Although the caption is not dated, research indicates that this photo was taken in the bottom of the ninth inning during the Dodgers 3-2 win on July 21, 1951. Robinson later scored the winning run on a single by Wayne Terwilliger. The photo (9x7") displays a few light creases. In Very Good condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
