1953 Brooklyn Dodgers Pennant-Clinching Baseball

1953 Brooklyn Dodgers Pennant-Clinching Baseball

1953 was another banner year for Dem Bums - the Brooklyn Dodgers - who steamrolled their National League competitors en route to a 105-win campaign, capturing the pennant by a whopping 13 games. The clincher came on September 12 at County Stadium in Milwaukee with Carl Erskine on the mound for the milestone victory. He used this Official National League (Giles) baseball to help propel himself and his mates into the 1953 World Series. It was used on the last out from the clincher, which also happened to be Erskine's 19th win of the season. The ball shows nice use and was marked by the right-hander on a side panel: "Sept, 12, 1953, Milwaukee 2-7, Brooklyn 5-5, 19th Win, Clinched Pennant." A great addition to any collection!
