Right-handed pitcher Carl Erskine spent the sum of his 12-year career with the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers, At the plate, Erskine wasn't much of a threat, but he did swing this rare, uncracked Hillerich & Bradsby Model K55 (as stamped on the knob) which measures 35" and weighs 32.5 oz . It shows light use with marks on the barrel. Erskine game used bats are very rare and this is one of the best. It is stamped 'WORLD SERIES 1953" above his and the team's name on the barrel. Erskine went 1-for-4 at the plate in the '53 Series, picking up that hit in Game 3 at Ebbets Field... a game that saw the author of two no-hitters outduel Vic Raschi for a 3-2 victory, striking out 14 Yankees in the process.
