1956 Carl Erskine No-Hitter Pitch Chart by Don Drysdale

1956 Carl Erskine No-Hitter Pitch Chart by Don Drysdale

Life couldn't have been much sweeter for Brooklyn Dodgers fans in 1956. Still basking in the glow of the franchise's first-ever World Series championship, Dem Bums were on the path to another National League pennant, and on May 12, Carl Erskine tossed his second career no-hitter, victimizing the crosstown rival Giants at Ebbets Field. From that afternoon's game comes this pitching chart from the hand of Hall of Fame ace Don Drysdale. This is especially rare because manager Walter Alston was one of the first to have one of his off-day starters track another one's pitches. The laminated chart has a chip on the left-hand edge but otherwise is in EX condition and exhibits great detail. A signed letter from Erskine himself is included.
