Five 1953 Carl Erskine Brooklyn Dodgers Last Out Baseballs
All five of these 60-year-old artifacts are Official National League (Giles) baseballs and show game use. Each was the last out of a game and saved for posterity by Carl Erskine after games that he won during that terrific season that saw the righty win 20 games and set a World Series game record with 14 strikeouts. Erskine has notated each ball in his own writing. They include his first win of the season vs. Pittsburgh on April 19; second win of the season vs. the Giants on April 24; sixth win of the season vs. Philadelphia on July 2; seventh win of the season vs. Pittsburgh on July 7 and 17th win of the season vs. St. Louis on August 30.
