1956 Larsen & Berra Perfect Game Collection (5)
We're approaching 60 years since Don Larsen tossed the first perfect game in World Series history as the Yankees blanked the defending World Champion Dodgers in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series, turning the tide in the Bronx Bombers' favor. Here are some magnificent mementos from that historic afternoon that ended with catcher Yogi Berra jumping into Larsen's arms between the mound and home plate. This lot contains: a signed type I wire photo of that signature moment signed by both battery mates with a paper caption on verso and some staining on the top right. There are also balls signed by Larsen and a rare signature of home plate umpire Babe Pinelli (Official National League - Feeney) and one signed by all three of the Yankees' perfect game authors; Larsen, David Cone and David Wells, who, coincidentally, attended the same high school as Larsen. There's also a ticket from the game that grades GD-VG, as well as a program scored from game that is in EX condition.
