Shortly before his death that October Bell was presented with this sterling silver tray for his tremendous efforts in advancing the popularity of the game. Engraved, “To Bert Bell-Commissioner Of The National Football League-His Unerring Faith, Vision And Supreme Confidence In The Football Fans Of Baltimore And Maryland-In Deep Appreciation And Gratitude-Mayor’s Citizens Committee-March 9, 1959.” Stamped, “Gotham Sterling 615” on the reverse. Moderate tarnishing on the face but otherwise EX.
