Eight years later he would be executed by CIA-backed Bolivian troops, buried in a hidden grave, his hands severed and preserved in a jar of formaldehyde as proof of his death. Simple signature, "Che" at the close of this brief typed letter on "Minister of Defense, Republic of Cuba" letterhead is in dark black ink from that tragic right hand.
