1960 Bob Hope Golf Photo & Letter to Henry Cotton (PSA/DNA)
This unique lot is a letter from Bob Hope to Sir Thomas Henry Cotton, MBE, who was an English professional golfer known for winning three Open Championships, ultimately becoming an architect of golf courses and writing ten books. The letter is one page typed, is signed "Bob," and is on the subject of and discusses golf, their shared passion. "It was wonderful seeing you at Epsom. I just wanted to report that the right hand is working and really helping me to hit the ball. That tournament was a great success." Four paragraphs all related to golf, and he asks for a picture of them playing and receives it; it is also included in this lot. The picture is of them golfing, is a Type I, stamped by the photographer Dr. Rudolf H. Schloss and measuring 3.5x5". The letter is postmarked 1960, and dated, measures 7x10", and has a bit of soiling but overall in EX condition. Comes with the original envelope, both on Bob Hope stationery. Comes with PSA LOA.
