1965 Sam Mele Game Used Minnesota Twins Game Used Jersey
Former major league outfielder Sam Mele managed the Minnesota Twins from 1961 through 1967, and wore this gray flannel button-front jersey during 1965, the season he managed his team to the American League pennant and a World Series appearance (the Twins were defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games). With "Twins" across the front and Mele's number "14" on the back in navy-on-red tackle twill, the jersey has a Spalding size 46 label on the left front tail and a washing label with a "Set 1 1965" flag tag just above the hem. Mele's name, number, size and the year (65) are stitched in navy thread under the Spalding label; Mele's name is also stitched onto a felt swatch that is sewn into the collar. This all-original jersey will be a welcome addition to any baseball collection.
