Collection of Minnesota Twins Banners including 1961 Welcome Minnesota Twins (6)
Collection of six Minnesota Twins banners includes five silk banners measuring 21 x 29" (with the gold fringe on the bottom). There is a 1961 "Welcome Twins" banner with cracking in the logo and several small tears at the edges, and an early "Win Twins" banner with some fading, staining and discoloration. There is also a 1965 World Series "Win Twins" banner in near mint condition, a 1970 "Win Twins" banner with slight staining, and another "Win Twins" banner with a different logo and two small green stains near the bottom. Finally, we have a smaller (16 x 25") burlap banner reading "Dodgers Murder the Minnesota Twins 1965 World Series." All around this banner are alliterative invectives such as "Blast Battey," "Kill Killebrew," "Kick Katt" and "Obliterate Oliva" - this banner clearly did not originate in Minnesota. All of the silk banners have a metal rod at the top and gold tasseled roping to hang them. Interesting grouping; especially the last one described.
