1988 Steve Carlton Game Used Jersey From His Final Season
Best known for his stellar pitching with the St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies, Hall of Famer Steve Carlton spent the tail end of his illustrious career with the Minnesota Twins and wore this gray button-front away jersey during his final Major League playing season. The jersey has "Minnesota" across the front and Carlton's number "38" on both front and back in red on navy tackle twill; Carlton's nameplate also appears on the back. There is a Rawlings size 46 label sewn in the collar with a "3 inch" extra length patch and a "Set 1 1988" flag tag next to it. A Minnesota Twins patch adorns the left sleeve. The jersey shows light use and, although not the final jersey Carlton wore in the Majors (his last appearance on 4/23/88 was during a home game), it is a great memento of the 10-time All Star and four-time Cy Young Award winning pitcher.
