Circa 1865 President Lincoln Memorial Ring
Wonderful and touching piece of folk art was certainly crafted shortly after Lincoln's fateful night at Ford's Theater. Ring is carved entirely from bone and has the look of two hands holding a book. Remarkably, the knuckles of one hand are hinged, allowing the book to open to reveal a small photograph on tin of the fallen Commander in Chief. Condition is terrific, with the look of age but none of the damage one would expect with a piece this relatively delicate. Size nine.
