Circa 1907 "Base Ball Today" Pennant

Circa 1907 "Base Ball Today" Pennant

Unique pennant was seen in a crowd shot photograph of the 1907 World Series in Chicago's West Side Grounds. Sewn on letters and sumptuous look makes this something special and quite expensive at the time. Best of all, it is tagged "Goldsmiths Sons" the venerable sporting goods firm. The manufacturer shows the quality, craftsmanship and importance. This is something we have not come across before and while looks tame to the newbie, it is purist memorabilia at its best. The fact that it is high level yet not associated to a specific team, is the key. 25" long.
