Circa 1909 President Taft and Joe Tinker Shake Hands Photograph (PSA Type I)

Circa 1909 President Taft and Joe Tinker Shake Hands Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph capturing President William Taft shaking hands with Cubs shortstop Joe Tinker. A Brown Brothers credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with a typed label identifying the individuals and handwritten editorial notations. Although no year is listed, Taft was president from 1909 to 1913. During that four-year period the home uniform style shown here was used by the Cubs only in 1909 and 1910, thereby narrowing the date of the photo to that two-year span. The photo (8x6.25") displays light creasing, a tiny edge tear, and scattered surface blemishes (similar to foxing). In Good to Very Good condition. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
