Circa 1914 New York Yankees Original Glass Plate Negative

Circa 1914 New York Yankees Original Glass Plate Negative

Original glass negative capturing the circa 1914 New York Yankees in a traditional team pose. Twenty-three team members are pictured here, most notably manager Frank Chance, who is seated in the center wearing his team sweater. Although no year is listed, Frank Chance was manager of the Yankees only from 1913 to 1914, which is the same time-span that the uniform style shown here was worn by the club. The fact that we do not see Hal Chase in this image, who left the club after the 1913 season, we can assume that it most likely pictures the 1914 club. The negative (8.5x 6.5") displays a moderate chip in the upper left corner and is otherwise in Excellent condition. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archives. (Please note: the positive image seen on our website is for illustrative purposes only and does not accompany the negative; only the negative is offered in this lot.)
