Circa 1939 Lou Gehrig at the Plate Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph of Lou Gehrig at the plate during spring training. The fabled "Iron Horse" is all smiles here as he is seemingly enjoying himself during the relaxed atmosphere of training camp. Four Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with handwritten editorial notations. The photo (9x7") displays light crazing throughout, as well as a few light creases and a tiny chip in the lower right corner. In Good to Very Good condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
