Circa 1961 Roger Maris 60th Home Run Photograph (PSA Type I)

Circa 1961 Roger Maris 60th Home Run Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photo capturing Roger Maris hitting his record-tying 60th home run on September 26, 1961, at Yankee Stadium. Maris’ 60th came at the expense of Baltimore Orioles hurler Jack Fisher in the third inning with two out and nobody on base. The image pictures Maris at the plate in the middle of his swing, just after making contact with the ball. A Brown Brothers credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with a handwritten notation in pencil describing the scene. The photo (10x8") displays a paperclip impression near the base and a few light creases along the perimeter. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
