Complete Set of 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Unused Tickets (8)
This complete set of eight full unused tickets from the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics USA Hockey series dates from February 12th thru the Russian and Gold medal games. Team USA, coached by Herb Brooks, shocked the world that year by winning the Olympic Gold as the young group of college kids was victorious over the powerhouse Russian team in one of the sporting world's most stunning upsets. In the next game, they came from behind to beat the Finland team to win the Gold Medal in what was voted the sporting event of the century. This is a complete set of full, unused USA tickets from that legendary "Miracle on Ice." The tickets include (dates in parentheses): USA vs. Sweden (2/12); USA vs. Czechoslovakia (2/14); USA vs. Norway (2/16); USA vs. Romania (2/18); USA vs. W. Germany (2/20); USA vs.USSR (2/22); USA vs. Finland; and Awards Ceremony (2/24). Very few tickets from this historic series were not used, and kept in this perfect form. NRMT.
