1998 Winter Olympics Bobsled Used by Greece

1998 Winter Olympics Bobsled Used by Greece

High-tech vehicle tore down the icy slopes during the 1998 Winter Olympics at Nagano, Japan. The four-man sled is the very one used by the nation of Greece, though it had already served time in 1994 at the Winter Olympics in Lillihammer, where Gustav Vader piloted the Swiss team to a Silver Medal. In previous years, Canada’s Chris Lori drove this sled to numerous World Cup Medals. Sled has not been used since Nagano, and still has the Official Olympic crest on the nose, with Greece’s number “22.” All the sled needs is new runners (old ones are not included) to hit the icy trail again. Weight is approximately 500 pounds, and winning bidder must arrange for shipping with consignor, who has the sled in Canada. At a replacement value of $35,000, this is one of the sweetest deals in the auction.
