Connie Mack Hall of Fame Congratulatory Letter with 360 Wins Content To Kid Nichols
Amazing letter dated September 16, 1949, and on Connie Mack’s beautiful “American Baseball Club of Philadelphia” stationery. It reads simply, “Dear Kid (only the octogenarian Mack could accurately call him “Kid”): Your photograph was handed to me by someone, just a short time ago. Your picture looks as if you would be able to pitch as you did back in the nineties (remember that is 1890s). Note that you have won 360 games, and lost 193. This is some record. Was especially pleased to receive your picture, and happy to know that your name is in the Hall of Fame. You deserve all of this and more. I trust that you are enjoying the best of health, and with kindest regards and best wishes, I remain Sincerely yours, Connie Mack (signed).” Gorgeous mint black ink signature. Letter is affixed to scrapbook page (could be removed) and has some very light staining at the side and mailing folds o/w NRMT.
